Early Life and Background

Staša Randall was born in the picturesque coastal town of Pula, Croatia, where her passion for design was nurtured from an early age. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the arts, it was only natural for Staša to find her path in the world of fashion and design. At just four years old, Staša began sewing under the guidance of her mother, a Costume Designer for ballet and theatre. This early exposure to the world of fabric, patterns, and design principles set the foundation for her future career.

Staša’s creative journey was further influenced by her aunt, Višnja, a prominent Creative Director at one of Croatia’s largest fashion companies. Working closely with her aunt, Staša honed her skills in pattern cutting, diverse sewing techniques, and gained a deep understanding of the business aspects of the fashion industry. This mentorship provided her with a comprehensive insight into the fashion world, blending creativity with commercial acumen.

Staša’s creative philosophy is deeply personal, as she often expresses, “Everything I create is a piece of me.”

 

Education

Staša’s formal education in fashion and textile design is as impressive as her practical experience:

  • High School of Fine Arts – Department of Textile and Fashion Design, Croatia
  • Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design – Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia
  • Master of Arts in Fashion Design – Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb, Croatia
  • Erasmus Exchange Program – MA Fashion Business, ENSAIT National Graduate School of Textile Engineering, Roubaix, France

Staša Randall has garnered significant experience in the fashion industry, working with renowned designers and brands. Her journey includes:

  • Gan Gan London – Womenswear Assistant Designer, 2015
  • Mehle London – Womenswear Assistant Designer, 2016
  • Roland Mouret – Womenswear Assistant Designer, 2017
  • Amicor Green Resort by Valamar, Hvar – In 2022, Staša was commissioned to design uniforms for the hotel staff, a project completed under her label, STAŠA DESIGN.

These roles allowed Staša to refine her design skills and understand the intricate dynamics of the global fashion industry.

  • First Exhibition (2011) – Held in Zagreb at the Gallery “Vladimir Horvat,” focusing on the theme “Five Elements.”
  • Dreft Fashion Week, Zagreb (2014) – Secured a top-three position, marking her as one of the emerging talents in the region.
  • “Triangle” Collection (2015) – Named among the top 30 Young Balkan Designers, a significant recognition in the regional fashion scene.
  • “4sqm of Pure” Collection (2017) – Selected for London Fashion Week, February 2017, further establishing her international presence.
  • “Equality” Collection – Featured in London Fashion Week’s Pop-Up Shop by fashion platform N7FUK in both September 2018 and February 2019.
  • 60th Castrum Vallis Exhibition (2024) – Staša’s textile artwork was exhibited in Bale, Croatia, showcasing her versatility as a textile artist.
